Feeding the Homeless
It is our desire to see this ministry nourish not only the physical needs, but the spiritual needs of those who are often forgotten.
Many of these people are children who have ran away or have aged out from the government centers and had nowhere else to go than the streets, some others are drug addicts or alcoholics that wander on the streets of San Salvador. We feed them all, we even feed prostitutes. When a person gets to this point in life it is hard to get out of it. We don't hold back. You shouldn't either. This is a tough ministry.
We go out late at night to feed the homeless this is the time they can find somewhere to sleep. We feed them whenever we can sometimes, we even receive enough donations to feed them three or four times a week, we drive around the city of san Salvador looking for homeless people. If you ever get to come with us, you’ll see how special this time is, we use this time to worship GOD, to say a little prayer for His peeps, to share His love. You’ll see how truly humbling this experience is, just to know that you’re helping the homeless have a dinner makes it completely worth it.
We ride on the back of a truck; we make around 150 – 200 bags of food. We don’t comeback with any, we have two runners for those homeless that are too drunk or too high to be able to walk or maybe it’s a disabled person, they are the ones running and delivering the food. But wait, you will also have people come to the truck and you can hand them the bag of food.
We are one of the very few that do this in El Salvador and it’s because almost no one believes that these people deserve another opportunity, they’re on the lowest point in their lives but we believe God can change their lives, it’s hard to see a kid we used to work with at the centers wandering in the streets, cleaning windshields to make a living and get a high. That’s what happens when they have no one or nowhere to live.
