CULINARY INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The purpose of this program is to locate youth between the ages of 16 to 22 at risk youth who will be aging out of ISNA care and protection and interested in culinary skills. These youth are at greatest risk of being homeless, on the streets, in gangs, using drugs or involved in prostitution. Our desire is to provide these youth with the basic training in restaurant skills, cooking and baking. We will be working in conjunction with local entities who can provide additional training with computer courses, English as a second language, and business management. We would also like to provide counseling services to help prepare them for the next stage in their life that the youth can work through past issues. This two-year internship program would incorporate these areas of expertise to give the youth an opportunity to succeed and acquire an independent life while in the process of furthering their education. It is our desire to train up a child in the way they should go, teaching them how to fish instead of giving them fish. We plan to achieve this through: an offsite living /work facility, where we are educating and mentoring the youth; helping youth to discover the hidden God- given talents they have by one-on-one development; promoting academic, career and personal development through partnering with local universities and local churches; carefully monitored work and service experience in which the student has intentional learning goals and reflects actively on what he/she is learning throughout the experience.

Please help us to keep this program going! Our costs after income are still about $8000 a month. This is a very important part of our ministry.
